I see each new person, couple, and family as a new partnership and would be honored to help you move to a higher level of happiness and functioning.
I love my career as a counselor and have had the great fortune of helping others for more than 25 years. I have a BS in Psychology and a Master’s of Social Work, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Illinois. I work as a counselor at the University’s Faculty/Staff Assistance Program.
My previous clinical positions included work with children, teens, adults, families, crisis intervention, and psychosocial education & counseling. Using a person-centered, holistic, and optimistic approach, I help to mobilize the strengths and resources of the person and their support systems to create positive outcomes to stressful situations.
My husband and I have two adult children and a two-year-old grandson. When not spending time with family, my passion is to volunteer, especially with local groups National Alliance on Mental Illness & Community Choices. Being surrounded by nature, going on walks, and dabbling in crafts are also pursuits I enjoy.
